A travel app for smartphones and smartwatches
It was a school project to design a travel application. My goal was to reduce the stress associated with traveling. The assigned persona was a frequent business traveler.
I was inspired by a tip about guiding children: “tell them what to do instead of what not to do.” Many similar applications focus on warning users that they do not have enough time. I chose the opposite approach by showing users that they do have enough time.
When people feel rushed, they are more likely to make mistakes. The information presented in my app is not very different from other apps, but by avoiding “hurry up” messaging and stressful visuals, users feel calmer. At the same time, they remain aware and are able to take action when needed.

Challenges & Learnings
Designing for a device I had never used before was challenging, especially in a space where so many travel apps already exist. User behaviors and core features are largely established, which made it difficult to create something that felt genuinely different.
At the same time, the process was eye-opening. It reminded me how quickly technology evolves. Not long ago, I was still printing flight tickets, and now smart devices can handle so much more. I was especially surprised by the capabilities of smartwatches, and designing for them turned out to be both fun and inspiring. It made me realize that there are still many unexplored possibilities in this area.
I also really enjoyed using Adobe XD throughout the project.
