A website that helps children understand water usage:
In this project, I worked with two others. We were given the theme of designing a digital product addressing the global water crisis. We decided to create a website that can be used in classrooms to help children understand that water is a limited resource.
Key Insights
- Awareness alone doesn’t change behavior
People may know about water scarcity, but this knowledge rarely translates into daily habits. - Behavior shifts when awareness becomes personal
Direct reflection on one’s own actions makes the issue tangible and more likely to influence behavior. - Water use is unconscious and hard to evaluate
Daily habits are automatic, and the impact of individual actions is difficult to see or measure. - Small actions can trigger broader understanding
Once people become aware, even simple routines can reinforce a deeper connection to global issues.

Challenges
We had only three weeks to complete this project. At the beginning, we divided the main tasks, and as the process evolved, we naturally shared additional responsibilities as they arose.
We initially focused too narrowly on the product itself. During the test run, this made it difficult to capture and maintain the children’s attention.
This experience led me to become more interested in the relationship between digital products and the context in which they are used, including what happens before and after user interaction.
